The challenge
Streamline development & usability
Service plans, or preventative maintenance plans, are contracts offered by home service businesses (particularly those that sell and install expensive pieces of equipment, such as HVAC companies). These contracts are essentially subscription services. For a monthly fee, the business will regularly service the unit, prolonging its life and protecting the homeowner’s investment. In return, the recurring revenue allows offers stability for the business and fights seasonality.
There are very few software companies that offer a solution to keep track these contracts, and most companies still do it in spreadsheets. We wanted to create a brand new solution that would give our customers a modern way to manage this core part of their business.
Our goals were:
Allow our pros to sell service plans while on the job
Process and manage recurring payments from service plan customers
Track when customers are due for their preventative maintenance service, and remind our pros when it was time to schedule these service calls

the impact
a promising start
Service plans have become a core part of our feature set for certain verticals. The feature currently generates 49.4K+ in MRR, with an average growth rate of 11% month-over month. Our customers have processed $10.4MM+ in GMV in using the built in credit card processing features.
